Can Delaware Nonresidents File Online?

Wilmington - The Division of Revenue's online filing program makes filing the Delaware return fast, easy and convenient for resident, part-year resident and nonresident taxpayers.

Question: "I'm not a resident of Delaware. Am I required to file a Delaware return?"

Answer: If you are not a Delaware resident, but have gross income during the tax year from sources in Delaware, you are required to file a Delaware nonresident return. You will be required to file if you:

* Worked in Delaware during the tax year.
* Have personal income from a business you operated in Delaware.
* Are a student at one of Delaware's colleges or universities with income from a summer or
part-time job in Delaware. If you are below the filing threshold, but had Delaware withholding,
you will want to file for a refund.
* Are a member of the armed forces stationed in Delaware and had nonmilitary income from
   Delaware sources.

Delaware nonresidents should complete their Federal return first, then complete the Delaware return to calculate the tax which may be claimed as a credit on their resident tax return.

Filing online is easy and convenient for nonresidents, as well as residents.
