NOTE: Understanding the tax code and its accompanying regulations can be a tremendous feat - even for tax accountants and tax lawyers. That is why the Internal Revenue Service,
Congressman Mike Castle, and the Delaware Division of Revenue are hosting a Taxpayer-Friendly Information Day on Monday, March 4 from 12:00 Noon to 2 PM at the Christiana Mall. Delawareans are invited to visit the outreach booth where tax experts will be on hand to answer questions and guide them through the changes in the tax code, including new provisions of the 2001 Tax Relief Act. Tax specialists will also preview changes in the tax code for the 2002 tax year including a new tax bracket, increased contribution limits for education, Roth and traditional IRA's, tax credits for 401(k) contributions, an increased adoption tax credit, and easier qualification standards for the Earned Income Tax Credit. Return preparation will not be offered during this information event.
